Things Visible and Invisible

Thanks to microscopy, digital photography, and the Olympus BioScapes International Digital Imaging Competition, creation which was once invisible is now visible to us in stunning color and detail.  The Olympus Bioscapes contest with its extraordinary images was initiated by Olympus, the camera company, in 2004.

O LORD, how manifold are thy works!  In wisdom hast thou made them all;  the earth is full of thy creatures.  Yonder is the sea, great and wide, which teems with things innumerable, living things both small and great.  Psalm 104:24-25

or my personal favorite, coming in 9th place,

Head and legs of a caddisfly larva: Sericostoma sp., a benthic macroinvertebrate that can be used for freshwater biomonitoring; because it is relatively sensitive to organic pollution and dies if water is dirty, it is a good indicator of water quality.

  1. There is nothing random in our universe. I’ve never been able to understand the viewpoint that all of the order we see in God’s creation could have occurred with one ‘big bang’.

    1. Thanks, Cindy. I don’t have much trouble with the concept of the Big Bang. My problem is with certain scientists, like Richard Dawkins, who push a completely materialistic agenda and arrogantly proclaim that there is no God.

  2. I have no problem with folks like Richard Dawkins. Just remember Psalm 14:1

    “The fool says in his heart “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good”

    Have you ever watched any videos (available on YouTube) of Ravi Zacharias? He talks a lot about Richard Dawkins. Mike stumbled upon the videos and has been watching them for days.

    You have a beautiful heart for God.
