“It’s All About Me”

I’ve had a sneaking suspicion for many years that it was all about me, but I never was sure.  Then I saw this sign:

It's All About Me

You see, it’s the silly season here on Guam, i.e. the election campaign season, and both parties are out in force.

My best friends will tell you that I am generally conservative and vote that way.  They will also tell you that I belong to no political party and am constrained by my job to limit my political activities.

But I ask, why pander to the narcissism of the day ?  Why can’t the narrative be how conservative social and fiscal values actually contribute to the common good?  Or how individual initiative, individual rights, and individual responsibilities are indispensable to that that common good?

Just asking.
